Farmhouse on 25 acres with ‘potential’
‘Immense potential’ is the term Dillon Murtagh uses to describe a traditional two-storey farmhouse on 25 acres at Rathconrath, Mullingar that has come on the market.
Murtagh Bros auctioneers are handling the sale of the property, which is “set on an elevated site overlooking the surrounding countryside” and is “in need of complete refurbishment”.
The guide price is €500,000, and as well as the main farmhouse, there is a range of outbuildings.
The property sits on c.25 acres of excellent quality pasture land and offers unlimited potential, say the auctioneers.
It is located at the village of Rathconrath, around 13km west of Mullingar and some 17km east of Ballymahon.
The property is suitable for the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant, which provides funding to refurbish vacant and derelict homes. The grant is up to €70,000, for vacant derelict properties (for more information on the grant, see citizensinformation.ie).
