Mullingar Tidy Towns, Shandonagh GAA and Buckley’s SuperValu join forces for National Volunteering Week

As part of National Volunteers week next week Mullingar Tidy Towns and Shandonagh GAA in conjunction with Buckley’s SuperValu Mullingar are holding a two-day bag-packing event at the Mullingar supermarket.

They are looking for volunteers, including parent or guardians, who can help out for any hour or two. Contact Mullingar Tidy Towns and/or Shandonagh GAA on social media to let them know of your availability. The days are May 24 and 25, 10am-6pm.

All money collected over the two days will be divided equally between Mullingar Tidy Towns and Shandonagh GAA.

Buckley’s SuperValu are also sponsoring a new set of jerseys for Shandonagh GAA for U14/16 and above.

"We need all the help we can get, as the more we have, the more funds both organisations can make.

"On both days, there will be groups of young players and parents, along with members of Mullingar Tidy Towns, out litter-picking around the town.

"We are also making window boxes and planting them ready for sale on both days – we are asking players and parents to plant the boxes – and we also have sunflowers seeds already planted in small pots and ready for sale."

Buckley’s SuperValu are providing refreshments on both days.

"This should be fun two days, when we as a club can show our appreciation, and make some funds.

"Let’s all try come together for the event and show all in Mullingar that Shandonagh are not just the best football club in the county but wonderful at supporting events like this as part of National Volunteer Week!"
