28 local community organisations benefit Intel’s Matching Grant Programme

Almost €130,000 has been donated to 28 community organisations in Westmeath this year as part of the Intel Ireland Employee Volunteer Programme.

The Intel Ireland Matching Grant Programme sees $10 paid by the Intel Foundation for every hour that an Intel employee volunteers at an approved organisation. Nationally, Intel have donated over €1.4m to over 300 community groups in Ireland this year. This marks the fifth consecutive year that Intel Ireland will be donating over €1 million to community organisations across the country.

In 2023 Intel Ireland employees volunteered just over 163,954 hours that were eligible to be matched through this initiative.

The 28 local organisations include St Loman's GAA, Ballinagore National School and Raharney United FC.

Since the inception of the Intel Ireland initiative, more than €12 million has been donated to charities, schools, sports clubs, social initiatives, and community schemes across Ireland.

Employees in Ireland make up just five percent of the overall Intel employee population but the Irish volunteering efforts account for 20 per cent of Intel’s global grant amount.

Director of Public Affairs at Intel Ireland, Sarah Sexton, spoke proudly of the achievements: “At Intel Ireland, we are immensely proud of the impact our Matching Grant Programme continues to make on communities across Ireland. By supporting a diverse range of organisations, from charities and schools to sports clubs and social initiatives, we are fulfilling our commitment to corporate social responsibility and making a tangible difference in people's lives. The generosity and dedication of our employees in Ireland, whose volunteering efforts contribute a remarkably large portion to our global grant amount, exemplify the spirit of giving back that defines our company culture. As we celebrate another successful year of giving, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting the communities where we live and work, and look forward to continued collaboration and impact in the years to come.”
