Westmeath MACE stores awarded for retail excellence

David and Maura O’Reilly, O’Reilly’s MACE Ballinalack and Jewel Akber of Akber’s Mace, Castlepollard were honoured at the recent MACE Excellence Awards, held to recognise stores achieving exceptional standards in retailing. The event was at Lawlor’s Hotel, Naas, and hosted by BWG Foods, owners and operators of MACE in Ireland. The awards, held in association with Solution Management Associates (SMA), are made to MACE stores that pass a year-long inspection, including three unannounced audits, visits from mystery shoppers and a BWG-led compliance audit for every store as part of the qualifying criteria.

Congratulating the winners, Keith Crawford, MACE sales director, said:

“I want to congratulate Jewel Akber, David and Maura O’Reilly and their teams.

Their efforts have been truly outstanding and their recognition is very well deserved.”

Mr Crawford said the awards recognise those who, through their commitment to outstanding retail standards and customer service, continue to set the benchmark for the brand and marketplace overall.

“Increasingly high standards are undoubtedly contributing to the continued success of MACE,” he added.

MACE is the longest serving convenience brand in Ireland, serving communities for more than 60 years.

Operated by independent retailers, the network includes community stores as well as forecourt shopping, with over 160 MACE stores located around the country.
