Columba College held their annual student awards night on Wednesday May 15, an evening that celebrated the hard work, academic and sporting achievements of the students at the school. The main awards of the night were subject awards, class spirit, progress awards, attendance, and the highly contested student of the year awards.

The Junior Student of the Year Award was sponsored by Mullingar Credit Union and was won by Ilinca Croitor, a third-year student.

The Senior Student of the Year was awarded to Keeva Franco. The award was sponsored by Trend Technologies and presented by Joe Flynn.

The staff of Columba College would like to thank both Mullingar Credit Union and Trend Technologies for their continued support and sponsorship towards the annual awards ceremony.

Jennifer Daly, a sixth year student, received the perfect attendance award, having never missed a day in her five years at the school.

Jennifer is a great role model to her peers and the younger students at Columba College.

The final award of the night was the principal’s award, known as the Confucius Award. The Confucius Award was introduced by former principal Maura McAuliffe upon her retirement and it is presented to a student who has shown great growth of character from first to sixth year.

Matthew Kelleghan was the worthy recipient of the Confucius Award on the night.

The staff of Columba College would like to thank the parents and families of the students for their continued support and look forward to next year’s awards event.
