LE Candidates Q&A: Aoife Davitt (FF)

1. Tell us a little about yourself
I grew up in Cooksborough, Cloughan with my parents, Liam (a psychiatric nurse in St Loman's) and Margo, along with my two older brothers, Aidan and James. As a child, l attended Loughegar Primary School and Loreto College Mullingar. I am currently a teacher in Loreto College for over 20 years. I am married to MJ Dalton and have a son Michael Óg, who attends St Kenny NS.
2. Why did you get involved in politics?
Teaching CSPE (Civic Social and Political Education) and encouraging students to make a difference and to get involved in their community (including politics), I felt that I could make my community a better place for everyone. I wanted to allow people to have a choice, someone they could relate to, and advocate for them.
3. What are the big issues?
Housing and local services.
4. Who is your role model?
My parents.
5. What are your hobbies?
I love to bake, anyone that knows my Mam knows she is an amazing baker.
I love spending time with my family, mostly standing on the side of a pitch cheering on my son and his teammates.

Some day, I would love to open a food business!
