Two special education classrooms approved for St Mary’s NS, Rathowen

Local Fianna Fáil TD Robert Troy has confirmed government funding has been approved for two new special education classrooms at St Mary’s National School in Rathowen.

Deputy Troy received confirmation from his party colleague, Minister for Education, Norma Foley, TD, that funding has been allocated to construct two modular classrooms for special educational teaching.

Funds have also been approved for the use of the community centre for the special educational teaching until the new classrooms are completed.

“I’m delighted to receive confirmation from Minister Foley that approval has been granted for two new modular classrooms at St Mary’s NS in Rathowen. Approval has also been given for use of the community centre until the modular classrooms are delivered and fully fitted.

“This investment means children with special educational needs will have purpose-built classrooms from September, which is welcome. It will make a dramatic difference to many school children at St Mary’s.

“I want to thank Minister Foley for all her efforts in advancing this essential project. Every child deserves a learning environment that matches their potential.”

The Fianna Fáil TD for Longford Westmeath added: “The advancement of this project is testament to Fianna Fáil’s dedication to providing the best possible education for all students.”
