Streete Parish Park 'like the Ritz' for High Tea fundraiser
There are things everyone should experience and one the community of Streete and district had the pleasure of experiencing last Saturday afternoon was ‘High Tea’.
A local group organised the event as a fundraiser for Streete Parish Park Community Centre, and Kevin Brady, chairman, said: “We salute the ladies involved, Denise Tighe and Carmon O’Brien, and all the volunteers who showed up to help pull together this magical afternoon, where everyone felt so relaxed in the most beautifully decorated and loveliest surroundings.
“Everyone was treated to a five-star experience – not only was the food absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, the service by a crew of personable young local girls and one charismatic little boy waiter who took our table orders was impeccable too.
“The quality was so high if you closed your eyes for a moment, you could have imagined you were in the Ritz in London or some other exotic high-class hotel!”
Kevin reported that everyone enjoyed seeing neighbours, friends and family make the effort to come along and support the day.
“We are so grateful to the ladies. They have excelled once again.
“It was a fantastic experience and I think everyone needs to try afternoon tea at least once in their lifetime. If the girls decide to do it again, I highly recommend you book early to avoid disappointment.
“On behalf of our committee, I would like to thank the ladies for their continued support of our community centre, and anyone who donated and gave raffle prizes, and especially the ICA ladies who baked some wonderful goodies breads and cakes for all to enjoy. Thank you.”
