Driver was doing 190kmh in 100kmh zone on N4

So far this weekend, An Garda Síochána have arrested 137 motorists for driving under the influence.

The garda bank holiday weekend roads policing operations across the network are ongoing.

The operation will continue until 7am on Tuesday 4 June.

“We are particularly urging motorists taking to the roads for their return journeys today to please slow down and take care,” said a garda spokesperson

Some examples of high speeds detected include; 190kmh in a 100kmh zone on the N4 in Mullingar, 127kmh in an 80kmh zone on the R239 in Donegal, 100kph in a 60kph zone on the N4 in Carrick-On-Shannon and 134kph in 100kph zone on the N17 in Charlestown.
