The start of the race in Coralstown.

More than 260 take part in Coralstown 5k fundraiser

We are thrilled to share the fantastic success of the Coralstown 5k held on Wednesday May 31, at Coralstown National School. More than 260 participants, including students, parents, staff, and community members, joined us on race day. The energy was palpable as runners and walkers of all ages came together in what has become a hugely anticipated annual event in the racing calendar.

Daire Finn from Kildare was the first man across the line in a time of 15:17, and local athlete Susan Glennon was first home for the ladies in a time of 18:52.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our dedicated volunteers who ensured everything ran smoothly, from registration in the school hall to our time keepers and stewards. Your hard work and commitment were key to the success of the event.

A special thank you to our sponsors for their generous contributions. Your support provided the necessary resources to organise this event and helped us surpass our fundraising goal. The funds raised will directly benefit our school, enhancing educational programmes and facilities for our students.

Finally, thank you to our 5k race committee of Matt Glennon, Francis Murtagh, Mary Walsh and, in particular, to our wonderful school secretary Joanna Tyrrell, who coordinated the event with such expertise, attention to detail and good humour.

To everyone who participated, cheered, and donated, thank you for making this race such a resounding success and we hope to see you all on the starting line next year, please God.
