Firefighters have rushed to a fire at the Shelbourne in Dublin city centre.

Staff and guests were evacuated from the historic Shelbourne Hotel during the incident on Wednesday morning.

Gardaí and multiple units from the Dublin Fire Brigade responded to the scene.

An ambulance also arrived outside the building.

The firefighters used an aerial ladder from one truck to access the roof of the six-storey building.

Gardaí said the fire was reported shortly before 11am.

A spokesman said no injuries had been reported.

The luxury five-star hotel is located on St Stephen’s Green near Leinster House and several Government departments.

Local traffic diversions are in place.
