Supercar convoy at Kinnegad Plaza for Little Blue Heroes
A multi-million euro convoy of performance and luxury cars such as Lamborghinis, Ferraris, McLarens, Nissan GTRs, Bentleys, BMWs and Porsches is to stop off at Kinnegad Plaza this weekend.
The cars are participating in ‘Fast and Furious’, the third annual Bumblebee1000 fundraising road trip organised in aid of the Little Blue Heroes charity.
Supported by the efforts of An Garda Síochána, the drive will allow the charity to meet and celebrate the Little Blue Heroes ‘Honorary Gardaí’ children at each designated stop.
Little Blue Heroes is a charity dedicated to supporting families in need who have seriously ill children undergoing long-term medical treatment. By making these children honorary members of An Garda Síochána, the aim is to bring moments of happiness and strength to their lives.
Happening across Ireland from June 14-16, this year’s ‘Fast and Furious’ event promises to be a supercar spectacular, featuring surprise guest cars alongside the aforementioned supercars.
The event kicks off from Barberstown Castle in Kildare on Friday of this week, June 14, between 8am and 9.30am, and the convoy will make a pit stop at St Mary’s NS, Enfield at 10am before heading on to Mayo.
On day two, the cars tour Mayo and Galway, and on the final day, Sunday June 16, they depart from Limerick, and travel via Portlaoise to Kinnegad, where they will assemble at the finish line at the Kinnegad Plaza at 3pm.
A spokesperson for the charity said: “These remarkable kids are the heart and soul of our organisation, and they will have the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable day with the convoy hosted by the drivers and crew of Bumblebee 1000.
“The event wouldn’t be possible without the incredible generosity of the public, our sponsors, our volunteers, and of course, An Garda Síochána. We are immensely grateful for all this support, which enables The Little Blue Heroes to continue their mission of bringing joy and support to children who are facing serious illness.
“We invite everyone to come out and show their support as we travel through Ireland, spreading smiles and raising vital funds for this amazing charity.”
