Easier access to paths for wheelchair users sought
More dropped kerbs with ancillary no-parking yellow box road markings, to make access to footpaths easier for wheelchair users, were requested by Cllr Andrew Duncan at the May meeting of the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad.
He was told that disabled parking is provided throughout the streets and car parks in the district, and disabled parking bays are constructed in compliance with the current standards.
Cllr Duncan urged the council to “do more”. Some people are unfortunate in the challenges they face, without having to face further unnecessary challenges, he said. “We should be doing everything we can to improve their quality of life,” he added.
