Fitzgerald reflects on successful presidency of Mullingar RFC
After four impactful years at the helm of Mullingar Rugby Club, Conal Fitzgerald is stepping down as President, leaving behind a legacy of growth, community engagement, and strengthened club ethos.
Under Conal's leadership, Mullingar Rugby Club has seen a remarkable 38% increase in membership. This growth has been matched by significant enhancements to the club’s facilities, ensuring that the club continues to provide a top-notch experience for all its members. The club ethos has never been stronger, thanks to the dedicated volunteers and the enthusiastic community that supports MRFC.
“I am incredibly grateful for the unwavering commitment of our volunteers and members,” Conal said. “Our General Committee, Rugby Committee, coaches, and supporters have all played a crucial role in our success. It has been an honour and a privilege to serve as President.”
Notable contributions include the work of the General Committee members Ita, Ciaran, and Mick, and the steadfast support from Terry. Special recognition goes to Tony, Youth Coordinator Ciaran, Mini Coordinator Denis, Referee Coordinator Paul, and CCRO Clare for their outstanding efforts. John Keane, awarded Club Person of the Year, significantly elevated MRFC’s profile locally and across Leinster.
Conal is confident that the club will continue to thrive under the leadership of incoming President Ciaran and Denis. “I am delighted to pass the torch to Ciaran and Denis, who I know will excel in their roles. I hope to support them just as Tony supported me.”
The Mullingar Rugby Club community is invited to join in thanking Conal for his hard work and dedication over the past four years.
