Local business showcases artist's work

A talented young artist is having his work showcased in a Mullingar business.

Apache Pizza in Mullingar is displaying pictures drawn by Padraic Fitzpatrick in their store in Blackhall. Owner Eoghan Murray has also made 100 copies of 16 of Padraic's drawings, which his staff are giving to young diners to colour while they are waiting for their pizzas. The popular eatery is also running a weekly colouring competition.

Padraic's work was brought to Eoghan's attention by John Bawle of Mullingar Tidy Towns. John has known Padraic for a number years through Mullingar Tidy Towns' links with the Muíriosa Foundation Foundation. He believes that Padraic's work, which features well known characters from the worlds of cartoons and film, deserves to be seen by a wider audience and Apache Pizza is the ideal location..

“Kids are always looking for colouring when they are waiting so we thought that this would be a great way of showcasing Padraic's work.

“He [Padraic] is exceptionally talented. He is an amazing guy and his family are so supportive. We believe that its good to get the message out there that if you believe in yourself, anything is possible.

“Eoghan was the first person we reached out to about this. He is so supportive of charitable organisations and other community groups,” John said.
