Plans are well advanced for this year’s Mullingar Agricultural Show, taking place on Sunday July 14, and the committee presented and thanked their sponsors at the launch night last week.
Chairperson Chris Dolan promised "bigger and better" and outlined some of the attractions, including country music star Robert Mizzell.
Cattle entries are already up, and still coming in, there are additional sheep classes, he said, adding that – as always – there is loads to see at the show this year.
On behalf of the committee Chris paid tribute to the late Oliver Moore: "We’re missing him this year," Chris told his cousin, Ray Dolan on his social media channels; "he would be ringing us keeping us on our toes. Oliver was one of those working behind the scenes."
Chris added that the volunteer committee all work year round: "As soon as one show finishes, we start on the next," he said.
