Successful blitz held by Mothers and Others GAA club

A blitz held by the St Paul's/Delvin ladies Mothers and Others GAA club on Saturday in Clonmellon proved a resounding success.

On what was a fine day, there were four teams involved, St Paul's/Delvin, Oldcastle, Bective and Cortown. A terrific day of fun football was enjoyed by over 50 women and they are grateful to the St Paul’s' GAA club for hosting the event and to the volunteer referees. Games were 10 minutes a-side.

Deirdre Shaw was the MC for the event and she ensured the day ran smoothly. The music added to a relaxed, fun atmosphere.

Jack's Bar in Kells was the venue for apres match and a wonderful evening was enjoyed, with a raffle taking place. Bairbre Mulvany, team coordinator, was the chief organiser and she was praised for her great work. The team coach is Larry Clancy. Conor Shaw Fitness led the group warm up.

Bairbre acknowledged those who made the event such a great success.

The blitz proved a very memorable occasion and the club is indebted to all who provided sponsorship on the day.

The sponsors included: Fortify Institute, Last Stop Carpets, Joe The Pro Golf Academy, Platter by Lu, Teach Fada Kilskyre, Jack's Bar Kells, Murtagh's Life Pharmacy Athboy.

"Everyone put in a massive effort both on and off the pitch. We have a wonderful team," said Bairbre.

It is planned to hold a team bonding event for the St Paul's/Delvin Mothers and Others team and to purchasenew playing gear.
