New Westmeath GAA app available

Westmeath GAA has developed a new mobile phone app which can be downloaded and provides supporters with details of what's new on the local scene.

Work is ongoing at linking notification of fixture changes to the new app.

Westmeath GAA’s new website is undergoing its final few changes and it will be ready in the next week. The website will include the fixtures and any changes to games.

Westmeath GAA PRO Marie Lynagh asked all clubs to lend their support in terms of informing her of any changes to fixtures so as they can be added to the app.

Tom Keegan, Clonkill, said hurling people felt a little like second class citizens this year as their results were not available on the website, while all the football results were visible.

Keith Quinn, fixtures secretary, explained the domain name was changed for the new website so the results were not fed in. The new website is in its final stages and will include that information.

Clubs can get the results and league tables from the fixtures secretary if they need them.

The chairman said the new app and website should be much better and more user-friendly than what has been there up to now.
