Woman (80s) dead after two-vehicle Enfield crash

A woman in her 80s has died following a crash in Enfield, County Meath.

The two-vehicle collision happened on the R148 at around 2pm yesterday.

Gardaí and emergency services arrived on the scene, and the driver of one vehicle, the woman in her 80s, was pronounced dead.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown with injuries that are not life-threatening.

The local coroner has been informed and a post-mortem examination is being arranged.

The road was closed to allow for a technical examination but has since reopened.

Gardaí are asking for any witnesses of the crash to come forward, particularly those with dash-cam footage.
