Man arrested after weapons threat incident in Grange

A man has been arrested after threatening people with weapons in Grange Lawns last week.

The incident occurred around 3pm on Saturday, July 20, when local gardaí arrived at the scene to find a male threatening other people using two “offensive weapons”.

Gardaí are unable to specify the nature of the weapons, but confirmed they were capable of causing “serious injuries” to others.

The man was ultimately arrested and brought to Mullingar Garda Station.

He was brought before the courts on Sunday, July 20, and has been remanded in custody.

One person was left with minor injuries arising from the situation.

A garda spokesperson said:

“The incident could have been a lot more serious if it wasn’t for the quick actions of responding gardaí”.
