Gardaí appeal for witnesses following Mullingar assault

Gardaí are investigating an assault on Austin Friar Street, Mullingar, on Friday 2 August.

Gardaí received report of an incident of violent disorder involving a number of individuals on Austin Friar Street early at approximately 5pm.

A man, aged in his 20s, had been taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

Gardaí are also investigating a road traffic collision involving two cars and a van which occurred at 5.10pm.

No other injuries have been reported at this time.

Road users who have camera footage (including dashcam) and were travelling in the Mullingar between 4.45pm and 5.15pm is asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.
