Gallery: St Mary’s Special School reunion

Months of hard work came to fruition for Barry Lynch in Mullingar Parish Community Centre on a recent Tuesday afternoon. Barry had been busy organising a reunion for former students of St Mary’s Special School in Delvin. He was a boarder at the school 20 years ago and has so many fond memories of his time there.

Eager to organise a reunion as there were some people he hadn’t seen in years, in 2023 he set himself the goal to organise an event with the aim of it taking place this year.

At the reunion, Sister Ann and Sister Kathleen said a short service for deceased past pupils of St Mary’s. This was then followed by a slide show of photographs from throughout the years, which Barry had been working on over the past number of months.

Afterwards everyone had a chance to catch up and reminisce about good times spent in St Mary's, while enjoying some tea, coffee and light refreshments. A great day was had by all who attended the reunion in Mullingar Parish Community Centre.
