Discover the history of Irish railways at local Heritage Week event

An event showcasing the history of Irish railways is taking place in Mullingar this week.

A PowerPoint presentation on the father of Irish railways looks at the amazing world firsts in Ireland, historical railway routes, model development with demonstrations, closures of historical landmarks and in-heritage.

The event kicks off with the first session this Thursday at 7.30pm. Four more sessions will follow on Friday at 3pm and 8.30pm as well as Saturday at 11:30am and 3pm.

The insightful activity is taking place at the Free Grace Evangelical Church located in Woodlands Avenue (N91 WN8C).

Admission to the event is free, however, voluntary donations will be accepted and given entirely to help war victims in Ukraine. Each session is followed by complimentary refreshments.
