An Intel employee from Westmeath has been recognised for his volunteer work with his local GAA club.

Billy Gough has been an integral volunteer at the Killucan GAA Club in for over 14 years, contributing to its growth and outreach to children and adults.

As the under-14 team coach, club registrar, assistant secretary, and child welfare officer, Billy has taken on multiple roles, ensuring the smooth operation of the club and the safety of its members.

His dedication extends to weekly executive committee work, monthly club committee meetings, and regular maintenance tasks. Billy's collaborative efforts have led to the successful organisation of events like the Killucan GAA Open Day, promoting the club and engaging new players.

He spends countless hours training, organising events, and mentoring young athletes, and with his leadership the U13 team were triumphant with a county final victory. Billy's initiatives have resulted in tangible improvements, such as the installation of a new astro pitch, enhanced training facilities, and the establishment of a comprehensive child welfare database.

His unwavering dedication, exceptional leadership, and inclusive approach have not only made him a remarkable Intel volunteer hero, but also a pillar of support and a role model within the Killucan GAA Club and the wider community.
