New faces to serve Spar's famous chicken fillet rolls

Under pressure from the people of Mullingar, Spar on Dominick Street has opened on Sundays since Rochforts Superstore closed, and taken on new staff.

Owners Roy and Angela Connor wished the Nally family well for the future: “Our type of business has become so difficult in times, with the huge increases in costs, and it is difficult to get by,” said Roy.

“I know, though, that Minister Peter Burke is doing all he can in his short time in office to help.”

Aiming to fill a gap cater for customers, Spar will open 9am-4pm on Sundays and two new employees have started on weekend duty.

Julia Halajda and Katie Heffernan from Killucan will have the full deli and hot food service, including the famous chicken fillet rolls, ready every Sunday morning. They look forward to seeing new and familiar faces.
