Westmeath set to appoint new minor hurling manager

Brendan McKeogh is set to be appointed as Westmeath minor hurling manager for the 2025 season.

In a statement, Westmeath Coiste na nÓg (Minor Board) said it was "delighted" to put the Raharney club man forward for the job "after a thorough selection process".

His appointment is subject to ratification by the Westmeath GAA Management Committee, but this should prove a mere formality.

McKeogh led Raharney to the Westmeath senior hurling title in 2021 when the Deelsiders defeated Castletown Geoghegan in the final. He will now succeed Ian Corrigan as Westmeath minor hurling manager.

"Brendan brings a wealth of management experience and knowledge at both underage and adult levels in Westmeath and we wish him every success as he starts his preparation for the year ahead. Brendan's management team will be announced in due course," said the statement from Westmeath Coiste na nÓg.

The board also expressed appreciation and thanks to all candidates who applied for the minor hurling manager role.
