A Westmeath ladies football club has won a €5,000 jersey sponsorship in a competition run by Greyhound Racing Ireland.

Streamstown's St Joseph’s Ladies Gaelic Football Club recently proudly received their new jerseys from Tim Lucey, CEO of Greyhound Racing Ireland (GRI), on behalf of Mullingar Greyhound Stadium.

The presentation took place in recognition of the club's victory in the 'Love Your Club' video competition, launched by Waterford hurling stalwart John Mullane earlier this year.

The national competition, which encouraged clubs to showcase their passion and community spirit, saw St Joseph’s emerge as one of the two deserving winners which consisted of a €5,000 jersey sponsorship prize.

The ladies of St Josephs have also distinguished themselves on the field of play over the past two years, being promoted from Junior to Intermediate to Senior in that short space of time.

Tim Lucey expressed his delight in supporting local sports and congratulated St Joseph’s on their outstanding accomplishment. The club members look forward to wearing their new jerseys in upcoming matches.
