Outdoor cinema screening to take place in Moate

A free outdoor cinema screening is being organised by the Moate Town Team for the second year running.

This year's event will take place on Saturday, September 7, at 7pm in Dún na Sí, Moate.

Last year's inaugural outdoor cinema gathering at Dún na Sí was very successful, with around 300 people of all ages attending a showing of Dreamworks film The Bad Guys.

The film chosen this year is the animated family movie Migration which tells the story of a family of ducks that move from New England.

All are welcome to attend, and the Moate Town Team organisers ask that attendees bring their own blanket, low chair, or anything else that will help them sit comfortably. Children must be accompanied by a supervising adult.

This year's event is being organised in conjunction with Midland Warriors who are busy developing their new grounds on the Dublin Road.

Moate Town Team was established as part of the Government's 'Town Centre First' programme, and provides avenues for funding and development of projects and events in the town.

The Town Team said it wished to thank Westmeath County Council, local businesses and Dún na Sí for making the upcoming event possible.

All donations and sales of popcorn on the night will go towards the cost of running the event.

Moate Town Team would also like to thank its members for their continued hard work, particularly the events sub-committee, which organised the very successful 'Moate Trad Fest' in June of this year.
