Carla Thompson is a devoted mother of two who has dedicated her life to caring for her eldest daughter Lucy. Lucy was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder at just 10 months old. When faced with the reality of no cure for Lucy’s condition, Carla made the decision to give up her career as a senior stylist hairdresser to take care of Lucy full time.

Lucy’s needs are continuous and extensive, and her condition has become increasingly complex. She is fully defendant on Carla for her care and in recent months there has been an increase in care needs as Lucy’s condition progressed, requiring specialist physiotherapy, nebuliser treatments and other needs. Carla has ensured that all Lucy’s needs are looked after throughout.

Carla’s unwavering commitment to Lucy’s care is remarkable; she provides around the clock care with love, patience and dedication, ensuing that all her needs are met. Carla’s role as a mother and carer, her strength, compassion and tireless efforts make her an admirable mother to her two beautiful girls and exceptional caregiver to Lucy.
