TEAM OF THE YEAR FINALIST: Mullingar U16 girls rugby team

The Mullingar Rugby U16 girls team have had a memorable 2023-2024 season culminating in winning all tournaments they competed in this year.

The team are a special group of ladies who have shown commitment, dedication, resiliency and athleticism throughout the season resulting with a special achievement of winning the Leinster Cup, the Premier Division and Midlands League trophies. This has never been achieved by an underage ladies team before and is a reflection on the players, the coaching team, parents and club.

The team were captained by Muireann Foy and the forwards pack was captained by Éabha O’Mahony who showed strong leadership throughout the year. The team would like to thank everyone who supported them throughout the season, the team sponsor, Nolan Engineering Group and QTP tractor parts who paid for buses to all the girls away matches throughout the season and all at Mullingar Rugby Club.
