VIDEO: 1999 All Ireland winning U21 team honoured at Westmeath Examiner Community and Sports Awards
One of the highlights of last Thursday's Westmeath Examiner Community and Sports Awards was a Q&A session with Aidan Canning and Luke Dempsey, captain and coach of the Westmeath U21 team that won the All Ireland title in 1999.
Aidan spoke about how the legions of Westmeath fans that made the journey to the final gave the team confidence.
Manager Luke Dempsey said that his side went into the final as underdogs, but it was a label that they were happy to wear.
