Joe Ward back in action in Dublin next month

Joe Ward will return to the ring next month, headlining a night of boxing in Dublin's National Stadium on Friday, October 18.

The 30-year-old Moate light heavyweight will face a to-be-confirmed opponent at the event, which is being organised by Elite Sports Promotions.

The fight will be Ward's second so far this year, after he defeated Derrick Webster by second round TKO in New York in March.

Since turning professional in 2019, most of Ward's fights have taken place in North America.

Next month's contest will be only his second professional contest on Irish soil, following on from his second round TKO win against Ghana's Prince Oko Nartey in Letterkenny last November.

Ward's record as a professional stands at 11 wins and one defeat, with seven of his wins coming inside the distance.
