Film making festival starts in Mullingar this evening
Anyone who has dreamed of having their film or themselves portrayed on the screen of Omniplex cinema, Mullingar, may have their dream come true this week.
The screening will be the culmination of three days of filming at a unique event in the town, from Wednesday to Friday, September 18 to 20, at Columbia Bar on Mount Street.
The Westmeath Filmmaker’s Collective, in partnership with KinoD, Westmeath Arts Office and Wolshire Productions, are holding this 48 hour filmmaking challenge.
Liam Hall Walshe of the Filmmaker’s Collective has invited everyone to get involved, from absolute beginners to seasoned experts.
The event will kick off at 7.30pm on Wednesday when you can pitch your idea for a film. This will be followed by networking in the lab when you can meet other filmmakers, team up, brainstorm and attach yourself to the projects in which you are interested.
Thursday will be a shoot day and members of public are invited to view the finished films on Friday in the Omniplex cinema, free of charge.
