Students John Zumerchik, Cian Ray, Tori Trower, David Trower and Graham Duggan really enjoyed beating the teachers at Moate Golf Club.

Wilson’s Hospital School Golf Classic 2024 at Moate Golf Club

The Parents Council at Wilson’s Hospital School organised a well supported golf classic fundraiser recently at Moate Golf Club. The organising committee included Veronica Anderson, Mandy Finnegan, Thelma Greene, David Hundley, Leonard O’Mahony and Robert Dolan, and they would like to thank the many sponsors for their generous donations of funds, prizes and also participating in the competition. They also thanked Moate Golf Club for their help and support in organising the event.

Everyone involved complimented the club on the standard and presentation of the course on the day. The superb meal provided by the Par 3 Restaurant also went down well with the players coming in from the course – some of whom were lucky and enjoyed totally dry rounds, while others had to take shelter.

The committee also thank TY student Oscar Hundley for his help and early start to put up the sign on the course and for photographer duties on the day; and Jean Dolan for baking the treats for the golfers as they made their way around the course.

A team of students (David Trower, John Zumerchik, Cian Ray and Tori Trower) played well and that they finished in front of the two teams of teachers made the day all the better for them!

The raffle to win a dinner and night for two at Wineport Lodge, runs to the end of September. Tickets can be bought on the school website, whs.ie; click on the Parents Council tab and then on the ‘Golf Classic’ drop-down.
