Local libraries host ‘Well Westmeath’ series this autumn

Westmeath Libraries have announced the launch of ‘Well Westmeath’ this autumn in Mullingar and Athlone Libraries.

It will feature a series of free public talks and workshops focused on health and wellbeing.

Finding reliable health information can often be overwhelming, with so much information available from various sources, and ‘Well Westmeath’ aims to make health information easy to understand by using clear, everyday language.

The events are designed for those aged 55 and over but will be of interest to anyone seeking practical advice and tips on improving their health and wellbeing.

Join Westmeath Libraries for free talks on a range of topics, including healthy eating, mental health, local healthcare services, and more.

County librarian Paula Leavy McCarthy said: “We hope this programme will make it easier to ask the right questions and feel comfortable with any information given in a healthcare setting.”

‘Well Westmeath’ is a collaboration between Westmeath Libraries, Sláintecare Healthy Communities, and the Age Friendly Council Westmeath and supported by Adult Literacy for Life (ALL) Fund.

Talks and workshops will continue weekly for five weeks, and more will take place after Halloween.

While the events are free of charge, some events require booking.
