Breastfeeding Week event at McGreals Pharmacy, Mullingar

In anticipation of National Breastfeeding Week, McGreals in Mullingar hosted a Mother and Baby Event last week, to provide support, education, and community for new mothers.

The event featured a talk by Regina Keogh, Infant feeding and Lactation CNM 2 in the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar. Also, Sonya from Hipbaby provided demonstrations of her innovative Spectra breast pumps, highlighting their benefits and ease of use.

Supervising pharmacist Niamh Scally concluded the event by giving advice on teething, nappy rash and more.

While mothers enjoyed coffee and cake, their babies were entertained in a specially arranged play area. That allowed the mothers to fully engage with the guest speakers and absorb the information in a comfortable and supportive environment.

A highlight of the day was the complimentary photoshoot, where attendees received beautiful prints of themselves with their babies. The event also included a competition and freebies.

McGreals pharmacist Niamh Scally said: “We are delighted with the success of this event. It’s heartwarming to see so many mothers come together to support each other and learn from experts like Regina Keogh and Sonya from Hippbaby. The energy in the room was fantastic, and we are glad to have been a part of it.”

McGreals plan to host similar events in the future.
