Delvin committee confirm date for 2025 St Patrick's parade

The Delvin St Patrick’s Parade Committee have confirmed that their 2025 event will be on March 16. Following their AGM, David Jones, local councillor and chairman of the committee, thanked the community for their support. “Your enthusiasm and commitment are the backbone of this event, and we couldn’t do it without you,” he said.

He said the team have “some fantastic plans in the works”.

He also acknowledged the dedicated committee members: “A special thank-you goes out to Martin Lynch, Mary Ivory, Mary Gaffney, Mary Carroll, Breda McHugh, Barney Ivory, Hubert Moran, and Colin Walsh. Your hard work and commitment are truly appreciated. Together, we make a strong team.”

At the AGM, everyone took a moment of silence to remember those who have passed on and who were important to the parade over the years. Cllr Jones said it was important to honour and celebrate what they did. “Their spirit is still a part of our community.”

As preparations begin for the 2025 parade, Cllr Jones emphasised the need for community involvement: “We are actively seeking more volunteers to join us on the big day. Your support is crucial to making this event memorable for everyone.”

He encouraged the community to stay engaged: “Please keep an eye out for updates and fundraising initiatives. We also want to hear your ideas – what theme do you think the parade should have?”

“Thank you once again for your incredible support. Together, let’s make 2025 a year to remember.”
