Ennell Bridge Club fundraising night

The Ennell Bridge Club, Mullingar, recently held its annual charity fundraising night, hosted this year by president, Cynthia Devine, who chose the local branch of Special Olympics as the beneficiary.

There was a large turnout of members and guests, a fantastic array of donated gifts and prizes, and the atmosphere was one of great goodwill and community spirit.

Following an enjoyable night of cards, the club committee served refreshments before the presentation of prizes and the raffle.

Anne Marie Hogg from Special Olympics Ireland (Mullingar Branch) was presented with a cheque for €1600, the proceeds of the night. She expressed a special thanks to everyone who contributed, especially those who donated prizes and supported the cause.

Anne Marie explained that the funds raised will go a long way in helping the Special Olympics continue their vital work in the community and help hugely with the day to day running costs.

Special Olympics Mullingar supports more than 60 members with a wide range of sporting and social activities daily. The club does not have any government funding or support so the funds raised from this and similar events are essential in ensuring that their work can continue.
