IFA President to address Irish Rural Link AGM

The Irish Rural Link (IRL) will host the Irish Farmers Association President Frankie Gorman at its AGM tomorrow (Tuesday).

Gorman will address the staff, board and members of IRL, the national network representing the interest of rural communities, on the future of agriculture and rural communities, and the opportunities available to the sector and for those living in rural areas.

With the agriculture sector adapting to meet emission targets, the IFA president will discuss how to support farmers as they make changes, as well as communities seeking to make rural areas sustainable places to live and work.

In addition, the IRL AGM will feature a expert in pensions speaking about the new pension auto enrolment, which is coming into effect in 2025, what is involved, the associated costs and how organisations within the community can prepare for this.

The AGM will take place at the Tuar Ard Arts Centre, Moate on October 7 from  9.30am to 11.30am.
