John Hogan releases powerful new single
Irish country music legend and one of the Midlands most successful entertainers, John Hogan, has just released a powerful new gospel song called “Scars in Heaven” which was first recorded by contemporary Christian rock band, Casting Crowns.
After 37 years in the music business, the Croghan-based singer/songwriter still has a passion for performing and recording, and says he knew that 'Scars in Heaven' was a “very special song” from the very first time he listened to it, at the suggestion of one of his legion of Facebook followers from the United States.
“The song stirred up a lot of emotions in me, especially the line 'the only scars in Heaven are on the hands that hold you now'” said John, and he adds that he had “no hesitation” in heading to the studio to record the emotionally-charged song.
Co-written by Casting Crowns frontman Mark Hall and Matthew West, it a song about hope in the midst of loss. Mark Hall’s inspiration to write the song came from watching his mother taking care of her parents right up to their passing.
“It’s a beautiful, emotional, and inspiring song that will resonate with anyone who has lost a loved one” says John Hogan, who drafted in his son Mark and his friend Stephen Youster from Echo and Wave Studio to do harmonies and produce it.
He says the end result is a song that will pull at the heartstring and cause the tears to flow” and adds that he is proud of his take on it and the work that Mark and the crew in the studio did with this recording.
Despite being almost four decades in the music business, John Hogan is is in constant demand doing guest spots on shows around the country, and also has a love for the theatre and concert scene. Having a reputation for being a gifted and sincere performer, he engages closely with his listeners and audiences through his music.
His distinctive voice is very much to the fore on his new single 'Scars in Heaven' and he has expressedf his sincere thanks to all to all the radio presenters and DJ’s far and wide who have been playing his music and hopes that they will continue to do so.
