Santa Express prepares for return journey
The Santa Express is returning to Mullingar Train Station for one weekend only this year – December 14-15 – and the Milltownpass, 9th Westmeath Scouts, invite young and old to join them on a journey of fun and magic.
The experience begins on arrival at the station, when passengers have photo opportunities, a shop and live entertainment. Jovial elves will guide travellers to their seats so they can experience a real train journey and enjoy views of the Royal Canal and Lough Owel, before arriving in Longford and preparing for the return journey to Mullingar.
Mr and Mrs Claus will move through the carriages, making sure to meet each child and keeping a close eye on the mischievous elves. Each child receives a gift (a selection box) from Santa during the trip.
The Santa Express is a fully accessible experience and will have a designated sensory carriage on select trains, to offer a quieter atmosphere, reduced noise, and simpler activities, allowing for a more enjoyable experience for all guests. A quieter area to wait for those that need it will also be available, as well as a sensory room.
There will be four trains over the weekend of December 14-15 and ticket prices are from €22.50 person (there are additional goodie box offers). Tickets are available from the Scout group website at 9thwestmeathscouts.com.
