Bus Éireann Mullingar Depot crews are winners

Two teams at the Mullingar Depot were among the winners when Bus Éireann celebrated employee achievements in 2024 at the regional annual GEM (‘Go the Extra Mile’) Awards.

Awards were issued in categories including Apprentice of the Year, Depot of the Year, Craftworker of the Year and several others, such as driver and community awards.

Two teams based in the Mullingar Depot took community prizes at the Eastern and Central Regional GEM Awards; the support team Susan Kerrigan, Lynn Cullen, Pat Doyle, John Hegarty, and Dominic McDonagh, and drivers James Byrne, James Cunningham, Alex Frim, Kevin Walsh, and Michael Doherty were recognised for their contributions to the community they serve.

The Bus Éireann regional awards take place across the country in October and the winners of each region go forward to the National GEM awards on December 11 in Dublin.

Bus Éireann carry passengers on more than 100 million journeys a year and they currently hold a 93% customer satisfaction rating, the company have said in a statement.
