Imagine by John Lennon.

Which band from any era would you love to have been a member of?

The Bothy Band, the 1970s.

What tune are you most proud of?

My own composition ‘The Winding Clock’ jig. It has got nice reviews and a lot of musicians enjoy playing it.

Guiltiest musical pleasure?

Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.

Most memorable gig you’ve been to?

Fleetwood Mac in the 3 Arena.

Most memorable gig you’ve played?

The launch of my debut album The Winding Clock in 2010. A huge audience packed into The Uisneach Inn, Killare, and I sold loads of CDs!

Biggest musical inspiration?

Mary Bergin. She has given the whistle a proper standing in traditional Irish music.

Westmeath’s greatest ever musician?

Noel Battle. A master on the mouth organ and an absolute gentleman.
