Parlez-vous Français?

Parlez-vous Français? If not, and you’d like to, Áras an Mhuilinn in Mullingar is launching two French classes. Oui, You Read That Right!

Ever found yourself staring at a croissant, vaguely recalling French from school and wondering if you could ever bring it back to life. Or maybe you’ve been stranded on a French country road, attempting to mime car troubles to an equally confused mechanic. Even better, do you dream of impressing your children with your dazzling French accent during homework time, just to watch their jaws drop (from shock, not laughter)?

Well, mes amis, your moment has arrived!

Starting on November 5, Áras an Mhuilinn is offering two French classes every Tuesday. Whether you’re a complete beginner or consider yourself a bit of a conversationalist, we’ve got you covered. Here’s the breakdown:

Beginners Class: 3-4pm, perfect for those starting from bonjour and building from there.

Conversation Class: 7-8pm, for those ready to flex their French skills in a relaxed chat or even debate the finer points of cheese.

No pressure, no pop quizzes, and certainly no embarrassment. This is your chance to tackle those pesky graves (è) and aigus (é) in a welcoming environment. Plus, you’ll be joined by native French speakers, ensuring you don’t accidentally compliment someone’s poisson (fish) when you meant their fils (son).

Note: These classes aren’t suitable for Leaving Cert students preparing for oral exams; however, Áras an Mhuilinn will offer a French oral crash course later in the year.

Call Áras an Mhuilinn at 044 9344673 for all the details. And don’t worry – they promise no awkward oral exams!
