Diocese of Meath to host 40 Hours of Adoration

The Diocese of Meath are inviting people from across the diocese and beyond to come to the Cathedral of Christ the King, Mullingar and to participate in 40 Hours Adoration this month.

The weekend of prayer to celebrate the Solemnity of Christ the King on November 24 begins with 7.30pm Mass on Friday November 22 and concludes with solemn Evening Prayer and Benediction at 4pm on Sunday November 24.

There will be Eucharistic adoration throughout the weekend and confession will be available from noon to midnight on Saturday November 23.

The text in the brown panel is: “To love is to adore. Adoration is the first response we can offer to God’s gratuitous and astonishing love. The amazement of adoration, the wonder of worship, is something essential to the life of the Church, especially in our own day in which we have abandoned the practice of adoration. To adore God means to acknowledge in faith that he alone is Lord and that our individual lives, the Church’s pilgrim way and the ultimate outcome of history all depend on the tenderness of his love”Pope Francis, Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, 29 October 2023
