Traffic management place in Kinnegad from this week
A temporary stop/go traffic management system will be in place in Kinnegad on weekdays from Wednesday, November 20, to Friday December 6, to facilitate public realm enhancement works commencing on the main street.
Westmeath County Council have announced works comprise the installation of a raised table on the street, installation of granite kerbs and paving to the raised table and footpaths.
The project will include the installation of street furniture, road markings, signage and landscaping.
While the traffic management is operating, businesses will operate as usual.
Access to local businesses and residences and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
A two-way traffic management system will be restored at the weekends.
The street works are part of the plan for a new library and education and training centre on Main Street, Kinnegad.
December to January
Works in the public realm will be scaled back from Saturday December 7 for the Christmas period. A two-way traffic management system will be restored between Saturday December 7 and January 2025.
