Launch of Iarmhí and lecture on Don Tidey Kidnapping

Wednesday 27 November next is a special occasion for the Westmeath Archaeological and Historical Society, as they launch the fourth edition of the now eagerly anticipated journal, Iarmhí.

Dr Paul Connell, Bishop of Ardagh and Clonmacnois, will launch the publication at 7.15pm in the Greville Arms Hotel.

The journal is the most comprehensive to date and there are in excess of 25 learned articles on all aspects of Westmeath history by local studies practitioners from around the county. The launch will be followed by a lecture on the Don Tidey kidnapping by journalists Tommy Conlon and Irish Times writer Ronan McGreevy. Copies of their book on the kidnapping will be available after the lecture.

All welcome to the launch and lecture; refreshments will be available.
