Castlepollard footpath request

A request that an additional stretch of footpath be installed at Water Street, Castlepollard, was made by Cllr Alfie Devine at the November meeting of the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad.

Cllr Devine said that would extend the path by 65 metres to the Water Street Association community facility.

The formal response provided stated that the district could consider it as part of the 2025 estimates.

Stating that the Water Street Association facility is used “by an awful lot of people on a daily basis”, Cllr Devine said he would welcome consideration of that.

Finea crossing

Cllr Devine also asked if a pedestrian crossing could be installed in Finea village.

“I’ve been asked by a number of people for the village of Finea because of the lorries, the trucks, the cars that travel the Cavan direction,” he said.

The district replied that it may consider a pedestrian crossing in Finea as part of the 2025 estimates.
