The hardworking committee and the traders at Collinstown market were delighted to welcome a huge crowd throughout the day to Collinstown Hall for their annual Christmas market.
It was held on Sunday last, November 24, and despite his efforts, Storm Bert did not blow Santa off course, and he arrived in style driven by William Bligh and his pony ‘Rodney’.
Santa had time to catch up with lots of local children before heading back to the North Pole to continue his preparations for Christmas.
There was something for everyone on the day whether it was those having a day out, or those doing some local Christmas shopping.
The market had been going strong since 2019, and is held fortnightly throughout the year.
The last market of 2024 is on Sunday next December 8 at the usual hours of 11.30am to 1.30pm.
The Collinstown Market committee members are: chair Helen Kelly; secretary Bernard Divine; treasurers Richard King and Billy Murtagh; PRO Vivienne Molloy; Patrick Dempsey, Noel Lehane and Teresa Doyle.
