Burke the favourite to top the polls, according to the bookies
Minister Peter Burke is the favourite to top the poll in Longford Westmeath, according to the bookies.
Both Paddy Power (1/14) and Boyle Sports (1/20) have the Fine Gael man as the most likely to top the poll when the people of Longford and Westmeath vote tomorrow.
Both Paddy Power and Boyle Sports are predicting that all three Mullingar based TDs, Minster Burke, Fianna Fáil's Robert Troy and Sinn Féin's Sorca Clarke will be re-elected with former government minister Kevin 'Boxer' Moran expected to complete the mother of all political comebacks and reclaim a set for the Athlone area.
With the bookies predicting four seats going to Westmeath, they are also forecasting that Longford candidates Deputy Joe Flaherty (FF) and Michael Carrigy (FG) will be battling it out for the fifth seat.
The don't always get it right, but the bookies seldom get it wrong.
